Focus on the Good

Staying positive during tough times isn’t easy for anyone.

We’ve all heard the saying, “If life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”

But what is the recipe for that lemonade? 

These key ingredients can help you to stay positive – even during the toughest times.

❤️ Share your feelings with others. 

Talk to your friends and family. Being able to voice emotional concerns can increase emotional and mental wellness. If you don’t feel comfortable talking with people you know, maybe try a Mind-Body Medicine small group with people you don’t know. Don’t worry, it’s like Vegas. ❤️ Figure out what makes you feel more relaxed and make it a priority. 

Whether it’s lighting a great smelling candle and putting on your comfiest sweater or taking a long, hot shower with your favorite music playing. Small pleasures can make a big difference!

❤️ Focus on the strengths of your support system. 

Take the time to appreciate your loved ones. Gratitude is the key to feeling happy and content. Spend time with your friends and family.

❤️ Give yourself grace.

 To develop and maintain a positive mindset, you have to forgive yourself for past mistakes and focus on the positive actions that you have done or are doing presently.

❤️ Say “no” without feeling guilty.
