Food is not the enemy

It is easy to look at food as the enemy when you are trying to lose weight.

All of the choices regarding your diet and nutrition can be overwhelming.

Counting calories and depriving yourself of certain treats can feel defeating.

But what if you realized that there is an entirely different way of looking at your relationship with food?

You have so many choices regarding your diet and nutrition BECAUSE your options are bountiful.

Yes, you have access to the temptation of unhealthy foods. But you also have access to seemingly unlimited healthy options and possibilities.

These are options that not everyone has around the world.

Instead of begrudging the fact that you shouldn’t stroll down the cookie aisle, what if you took a moment to appreciate all of the incredible, fresh, nutritious food that you have within your reach in just about every grocery store?

While a healthy diet often requires you to cut out certain treats (I am talking about sugar and processed foods) – instead of looking at that limitation as a deprivation, why not realize that it is an opportunity to replace those unhealthy foods with healthy, beneficial foods?

Your body needs food for fuel.

Every system in our body operates to keep us alive BECAUSE we need our bodies.

And how well those systems operate is directly impacted by WHAT we feed our bodies. Our ability to maintain a healthy weight is contingent on choosing the right fuels.

Your weight loss journey can be a joyful journey.

Instead of looking at food as the enemy or obstacle, recognize the bounty of healthy and nutritious foods that you have access to – and be grateful to feed them to your body!
