Happy February! Are you ready for our February challenge? This month we have two different challenges for the month of February. You can choose to do one or both. You decide.
February Challenge 1: Self Care Challenge
The first February Challenge is our Self Care Challenge.
Self-care can be defined as the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health. More specifically the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.
God values rest and taking care of our bodies.
Exodus 34:21 Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest, you must rest. We cannot continuously go, go, go. Even during the busy seasons of our life, we need to rest.
Jesus himself valued rest.
Luke 5:15-16 Yet the news about him spread all the more so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
We need to recognize and accept that even though Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, we are human and our bodies need proper activity, nutrition, and rest. We need to take care of our bodies, mind, and spirit.
There are 28 different activities for you to complete over the month. Ideally, you’ll do one a day, but if life gets busy as it does, you can definitely do more than one a day.
February Challenge 2: Spread Some Love Challenge
The second February Challenge is our Spread Some Love Challenge.
As Christians, we are called to share God’s love with the world around us. Jesus said in John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Often times we are so busy living our lives and fighting our struggles that we don’t take the time to look around and love others well. This is one of my personal values. To love others well. Maybe it’s one of your values too?
This Spread Some Love Challenge focuses on how you can show some love and kindness to others.
While doing this challenge, ask God to help you to be observant of the needs of those around you during this time. Ask God to show you and lead you to the people He wants you to connect with each day. His timing is perfect. Listen to what He says to you and most importantly take action on what you hear.
In that same thinking, remember that so many people around you are hurting inside and not showing it on the outside. We can be very good at covering our pain with a false smile. If you think the person God placed on your heart isn’t the right person, I ask you to trust God and follow through.
Again, there are 28 different daily challenges. Try to do one a day if you can, but these can be doubled up too.
Now start
We’ve tried to pick small actions that you can do. You can do these on your own or with your friends or family. We hope you feel happier and more relaxed no matter which challenge you pick!
