If you’re like most parents today you would love for your kids to develop some healthy habits.

Between video games, virtual school, learning apps, entertainment apps, and your kids pretty much just knowing more about how to work your own phone than you do, screens are everywhere!

An infographic put out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that children ages 8-10 spend an average of 6 hours per day in front of a screen, and kids ages 11-14 spend an average of 9 hours per day in front of a screen, and youth ages 15-18 spend an average of 7.5  hours per day in front of a screen.

Too much screen time has been linked to obesity, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and lower test scores in children.

Including limiting screen time for our kids, below are 5 simple healthy habits to instill into our kids at any age!

  1. Get outside and do something fun
  2. Limit screen time
  3. Eat the rainbow
  4. Enjoy family dinner
  5. Drink lots of water
