Do you need help getting organized for your camping trips?

Let us help!

We’ve been a camping family for over 20 years!  Greg and I actually went on our first camping trip with a group from our church when we were dating in the early 90s. We fell in love with being outdoors and camping so we’ve been going camping ever since then.  Thankfully our kids have fallen in love with camping too!

One of the things you’ll learn when you start camping is that you sure seem to need a lot of stuff for living out in the woods for a night or longer.  We have accumulated our camping gear over the years and have our personal organization figured out.

We use different size tubs (Rubbermaid Actionpacker, Rubbermaid, Sterilite) and Thirty-One Gifts bags to store and organize our camping gear, but the one thing that has made getting organized to go camping the easiest for us is our checklists.

Once we started accumulating our camping gear I created checklists for each of our boxes.  We laminated them and have used them over and over again for many years.

They have been sanity savers!

And they have just been updated too! Now they print two lists per page and in color!

Our checklists

We have created and use a checklist for:

  • Recreation
  • Toiletries & First Aid
  • Tool Box
  • Things to grab as you’re leaving
  • Cooking
  • Clothing
  • Suggested camp foods
  • and the Tent box

Buy the good tubs!  They will last you a lot longer and they’ll turn into a place to sit when you need one, which is pretty often for us.  You want them to last and not get broken easily while in transport or if they get dropped onto the ground abruptly.

Our camping food usually is split between the cooler for foods that need to remain cool, a hard-sided tub for room temperature items, and a canvas style grocery bag from Thirty-One Gifts for snacks and bread.

We generally use a few totes that we purchased from Thirty-One Gifts to carry medicines, sleeping bags, and recreation gear.  Our 4 sleeping bags and 4 camping pillows all fit perfectly inside the Large Utility Tote from Thirty-One and their bags last for years even after throwing them on the ground repeatedly.

If you decide to purchase the Camping Checklist set you’ll also find that we’ve included a blank 7-day Camping Meal Planner to help you plan out your meals and beverages.  You may not need to plan for a whole 7 days, but you can use it for as many days as you need up to 7 days.

Let me know if these help you.

I highly suggest that you laminate them.  You can then use a dry erase marker to check things off as needed and it allows you to use the list over and over again.

Happy Camping!
